On October 11th, 2012, the Nobel Prize in Literature (文学) for 2012 was won by the Chinese writer Mo Yan. “I’m very happy to hear the news,” Mo Yan told the Chinese reporters after he was told that he won the prize. “But I feel this prize doesn’t mean too much for me. There are many other outstanding writers in China. I will continue writing more books.”
Mo Yan was born in Gaomi, Shandong Province in 1955, the fourth child in his family. things have influenced Mo Yan’s later writings. At the age of 12, he had to leave school.
