BOCOG issued a call for the slogan on January 1, 2005, and the response was unexpectedly good. By the deadline at 17:30 on January 31, 2005, the office for the Solicitation of Slogans for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games received at least 210,000 entries of slogans that people sent in by 10,123 emails and 10,038 letters.
The letters and emails came from all over the world, including all the provinces and autonomous regions on the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan，as well as the United States, Great Britain, France, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Cuba, Norway, Brazil and many other countries and regions. After the deadline, BOCOG invited experts in the Olympic studies, sociology, sports, culture and linguistics to evaluate, pre-select, preview all the submissions based on the pre-set standards and in line with the principles of equality and fairness. The slogan Beijing used during its bid campaign was New Beijing, Great Olympics. It has successfully helped the world to recognize that Beijing, a city with a history of more than 3,000 years and at the heart of China's splendid culture, is also one of the fastest modernizing cities in the world. The new slogan shifted the focus from the city itself to the three concepts of 2008 Games (namely, Green Olympics, Hi-tech Olympics and People's Olympics) and the universal values of the Olympic Movement.
Games organizers have increasingly used Olympic slogans as an important platform to launch their communications campaigns. 2008年北京奥运会的成功举办，将“同一个世界，同一个梦想”口号传遍了全世界的每一个角落。作为大学生的我们将继续传承此精神。为此我院于2008年10月29日成功举行了以“One World One Dream”为主题的演讲比赛。此项活动的成功开展得到了院党委和团委的大力支持。
一、 活动如期举行
2008年10月29日在经管分院学习部各部长及全体干事的精心策划与安排下，在全院同学的积极参与热情下， 以“One World One Dream”为主题的演讲比赛在447教室成功举办。
二、 本次活动以传承奥运精神为主
本次活动的展开主要目的在于通过演讲提高同学们对党的强大、对祖国的强大的认识，增强同学们对国家荣誉感、民族荣誉感和集体荣誉感的认识。为争创文明城、创文明学校、树立文明新风、建立和谐校园做出贡献，让同学们塑造更高道德素质——奉献、团结、勤思、博学。让同学们认识自己的青年理想和自己所肩负的使命，让同学们时刻心系国家，时刻响应党的号召。同时，增加同学们对奥运知识的了解与关注，调动同学们对体育运动的热爱，激发同学们对体育运动的兴趣。最终达到传承奥运精神，发扬奥运精神的目的。
三、 精彩的演讲尽显大学生风采
所有参赛选手的精彩表现，尽显我院大学生风采；丰富的演讲内容，给在场的每一个同学提供了一个走进奥运了解奥运的平台；激情饱满的演讲，似熊熊燃烧的奥运圣火，不断将整个会场照亮；多媒体的充分利用，演讲形式的多样性，更是将大学生的创新思维充分显示出来，这也使得眼见比赛变得更加精彩，选手们的出色表现不断赢得在场所有人热烈的掌声。
四、 认真负怎的工作态度使得本次活动圆满结束
长大三个小时的演讲比赛被一次次引向高潮。在所有选手杨将结束后，学习部各干事认真严谨地进行了分数汇总、唱票、监票工作，监察部各干事的协助更加保证了整个比赛的公平公正。演讲比赛最后取一等奖一名，二等奖两名，三等奖三名。优秀的选手将代表经济管理系参加院举办的辩论赛。位选手都从微笑中透漏着对奥运的喜爱，从微笑中展现着自信、乐观的奥运精神。{one,world,one,dream,作文}.{one,world,one,dream,作文}.

This is for the ones who stood their ground. Confucius and Socrates are two greatest figures in the eastern and western cultures. As far as I am concerned, There is no national boundaries in the culture,we human beings have one world one dream.Once the two elites met, eastern and western culture would interact each other.Although they are not from the same country and there is no academic exchanges between them, surprisingly,they have a lot in common.
First of all, Confucius is convinced that people should be certain of what they know and do not pretend to know what they do not understand. Similarly, Socrates said that wisdom is knowing that you do not know. They taught us we must confront knowledge with a honest attitude. Additionally,neither Confucius nor Socrates would do something they considered to be unjust even if they were threatened. Their actions were strictly regulated by their rational evaluation of what was right. Obviously, we can get a conclusion that We should learn for fairness and justice. Unfortunately, Confucius died a natural death at seventy-two, while Socrates was martyred at seventy, but both accepted death calmly. Last but not least, never too old to learn, we may not become a person like Confucius, but we have responsibility to study at the end of our life.
As the souls of eastern culture and western cultures,They may have some incorrect idea or discrepancy in some way, but we should Take the essence out of them. We live in one world and we share one dream. We should not deny each other because of different regional culture, on the contrary, we should break the bondage of geography to learn all kinds of advanced culture.
