Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I am delighted to be with you today. My name is XX from Pudong University. What I am going to do today is to introduce a famous building ---- the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, one of the landmark buildings in Shanghai. Why I pick up the topic is that I am a Shanghainese, born and breed in Shanghai, and I am very familiar with the unique building. I have divided my presentation into three sections. First, the construction of the building. Second, the design of the building and finally, the feature of it. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to interrupt me.
Now I would like to move to my body part. Firstly, the construction of it. The tower was started on Oct.1, 1991 and completed in 1994. Soon after that, it was opened to the public. The tower consists of 11 steel spheres, different in sizes and arranged at different levels, hanging from the blue sky down to the green lawns. Secondly, the design of the tower was selected by nationally well-known experts. The architects inspired by rich imagination, arranges 11 spheres together with some
ground facilities in the order of their sizes like a string of pearls. At night, when the lights on, you will see a nice picture of pearls falling into a jade plate. It is not only a great attraction to visitors but also the symbol of the modern science and technology of Shanghai in recent years. Finally, I will introduce the features of it. The Oriental Pearl Tower is 468m high. The tower combines shopping, recreation, accommodation and exhibition into one body. The sightseeing level is 263m high, You can fully enjoy all the magnificent buildings and the beautiful urban views. In the upper sphere, there is a revolving restaurant ,it wins a good reputation for its unique viewing advantage, fantastic cooking culture, and warm service making guests feel at home. In conclude, the Oriental Pearl Tower gives every tourist a feeling of enjoying the endless vista brought by modern technology. Thank you!
