Who is more important in children’s education, father or mother?
It is universally acknowledged that father and mother play extremely different roles in the family. Generally speaking, father is responsible for making money to support the whole family, while mother mainly look after the children physically and mentally. Within the last several decades, though, scientists are increasingly realizing just how much dads matter. Just like women, fathers' bodies respond to parenthood, and their parenting style affects their kids just as much, and sometimes more, than mom's. In my opinion, father is more important in children’s education. My reasons as below.
Firstly,children easily form attachments to their fathers, who tend to be just as responsive to their children’s bids for attention as mothers. When fathers spend more time with their children, they get to know exactly what each of their children’s signals mean. This familiarity allows fathers to respond sensitively, meaning that they know what do their children need on earth.
Secondly,children with involved, caring fathers have better educational outcomes. A number of studies suggest
that fathers who are involved, nurturing, and playful with their children with higher IQs, as well as better linguistic and cognitive capacities. In addition, the influence of a father's involvement on academic achievement extends into adolescence and young adulthood. Numerous studies find that an active and nurturing style of fathering is associated with better verbal skills, intellectual functioning, and academic achievement among adolescents.
In a word, if father can be more involved in the children’s education, their children will be more well-educated and more smart.
