A Happy Sunday

A Happy Scarecrow
Like everyone, Braidie had unhappy moments from tine to time.When she felt unhappy.she would go and visit the scarecrow.He was a happy fellow and he wanted other people to be happy too.so he could always find ways to cheer her up. When she got to the edge of the wheat field. Braidie saw about of little birds flying about.The scarecrow however.stood there with a happy look.What was even more amazing . A bird was sitting on his shoulder. And he was telling a story to this bird.
"Scarecrow!Scarecrow!"The girl was worried."A lot of birds have come to the wheat field."
But the scarecrow was not worried at all. With a smile. He said to the bird on hie shoulder ."Go and call the bird in the wheat field to come here. I have lots of to tell them."
The bird flew away.
Braidie did not understand why the scarecrow wanted to tell the birds stories instead of driving them away.
The scarecrow answered,"Since they all come to listen to my stories.the birds will not peck at the wheat."
Well, what the scarecrow said was really quite reasonable.
The little bird that had sat on the scarecrow's shoulder flew back, followed by a flock of birds.They came to perch on the scarecrow's hat shoulders and out-stretched arms.
"Tell us a story.please.Tell us a story."the birds twittered.
"Be quiet, and let me talk to this little girl first."Then the scarecrow spoke to her kindly."Braidie you seem somewhat unhappy today."
Shaking her head .she said "I don't know why I am unhappy."
"But you should feel happy today."said the scarecrow. giving her a reason to feel happy "because you have bunny shoes are."
The birds set about twittering again,"How pretty her bunny shoes are."
"Are they?" Braidie put her feet together and found that the bunny shoes on her feet were indeed lovely.
She took a leap like a bunny Her bunny shoes were just like two real bunnies. After saying goodbye to the scarecrow.she leapt away.
The more she leapt. The happier she became she giggled In the meadow a mother rabbit and her bunnies were grazing.At Braidie's giggle they all looked up at her in amazement.
"Mom, why is the little girl laughing?"one bunny asked her mother.
"Because she feels happy."
"Mom look---two bunnies!"
The mother rabbit fixed her eyes on the girl's bunny shoes She believed they were two of her children.because they looked just like real rabbits. She made a desperate run toward Braidie.
Not knowing what was happening. Braidie started to run with fright.
"Stop."
Staring at Braidie's rabbit shoes. The mother rabbit wondered when her two kids ever run so fast.
Still running. Braidie looked back over her shoulder and asked "Mother Rabbit.why are you chasing me?"
The mother rabbit did not hear Braidie's words at all because she was concentrating on her two"kids"
One shoe fell off as Braidie ran But she dare not stop A moment later the other
shoe was gone Still not daring to stop she ran on,bare-foot.
After running bare-foot for white Braidie sensed that the mother rabbit was not chasing her any more, From be big tree she saw the mother rabbit holding her two shoes in her arms.
Aha!Braidie understood now why the mother rabbit had chased her she mistook the bunny shoes for her two children! Braidie started to laugh extremely happy. Braidie went back to the little house in a good mood but she found Tumbler quite unhappy.
"Tumbler why are you not happy?" Tumbler said "It's going to rain."
Looking up Braidie saw that the dark clouds had blocked the sun. The rain was coming Thinking that the scarecrow would get soaked in the rain she went with Tumbler to wrap the straw man in a raincoat.
No sooner had they reached the wheat field than rain drops started falling The scarecrow was saying goodbye to the birds.
"It's raining Go home quickly."
"Straw Man we will be back tomorrow to listen to your stories."
"See you tomorrow!See you tomorrow!"
The little birds twittered and fluttered away.
Braidie and Tumbler put the big black raincoat on the scarecrow .It was a perfect match to his hat.Now the scarecrow looked virtually like a black knight in the movies.
"Wow!" Braidie yelled in amazement was very happy "I hope it rains every day so Ican be cool every day."
Seeing that Tumbler appeared unhappy the scarecrow asked "Tumbler don't you like rain."
Tumbler said that when it rained he couldn't play football or raid his bicycle he
couldn't do any thing but stay in the little house
"Who shays we can't play when it rains?"The scarecrow immediately found Tumbler a reason to be happy "When it rain you can play a more interesting game."
The scarecrow shook his black rain coat and asked "would you like play the game of black kinghts in the rain?'
Patting his head Tumbler said "You're right I can play black knights too!" "You're too short to look like a black knights."
"But I know what to do." Tumbler ran back into the little house to get dressed up.
Braidie picked up the scarecrow and carried him out of the fiel
