Term Paper for Orientation Course (2014)
The term paper will be composed of two parts: 1) voice your opinions, feelings, comments, advice about this course. You can talk about what are the good points to stick to, what are the weak points to strengthen etc. 2) make a plan for your college life. Tips: you start from who and where you are, your ideal self and your practical steps to fulfill your dreams.
Both English and Chinese will do, but English is preferred. Word limits: no less than 1000 words, and you will reap what you sow. Printed or hand-written on A4 paper. Quoted ideas should be put inside quotation marks. Plagiarism or downloading will result in failure. Deadline: before December 1st .
This term we have a new subject—orientation course. In this course, teacher Pan share his opinions with us about many things. There is no denying that good and weak points both exist. The opinions below are just my own opinions. First many good points are necessary for us to master. For example, Mr. Pan once said‘It is very useful for us to learn foreign culture to master English well.’Of course, culture and literature are inseparable. So we should do that. suggestions for my teacher. First, he can teach us some easy-understanding things for us to master. know,teachers must deal with the relationship between teachers and students. Nevertheless, each person is individual and each student has his or her own ideas. We mustn’t kill the wonderful ideas. I also should hold on our learned views. We ought to learn from each other.
To be a good teacher in the future, I should do something meaningful and useful to achieve it. First of all, I’ll be more active , positive and confident to study English. Secondly, I ought to be modest to achieve knowledge from others. Thirdly, I will read more. Of course, it is far from enough. Thinking is very significant for us, especially reflection on ourselves. At last, we have enough spare time in college, so we had better to join some meaningful activities so that we can make more friends and get more we haven’t known. In this case, I will tell something about our dormitory life. I Never live in the dormitory before and I find my roommates are very kind and helpful. We share things each other and go to the canteen together to eat. But the problem has been coming. Is it good? Or is it wonderful? I will say that this is not what I Want. In this case, we have less time to study and think alone. Our thoughts turn to be the same, and we are becoming more and more susceptible. It is terrible. We are all individual and we have our own thoughts, so do not follow others. But sometimes others may think you are indifferent to them if you do not do the same with them. So that is what I am puzzled about. I pray for some advice on it if possible.
In the end, I want to mention in passing. Mr. Pan looks a little thin. So I suggest him to eat more. But it is hard to say that someone can become healthier to eat more. A good diet is very necessary and important. I know that he has noticed that he is very thin, but to a student’s identity, I just want to give some tips to him . Maybe he could say it is born with him. I can understand that, because I am a little thin, perhaps it can never be changed. Anyway, I want to say we can make the change at the same time. Keep left
In New Zealand, traffic travels on the left-hand side of the road and the driver
sits on the right of the car. When you are turning, you should be careful to the
left side. Remember to keep your eyes on the road ahead. It is easy to draw
your attention to the beautiful parts in New Zealand.
Crossing ‘Give Way’ rule
If you‟re turning, give way to all cars that are not turning.
In all other situations, give way to cars crossing or coming
from your right.
One lane（行车道） bridges
Many roads in New Zealand have one lane bridges on them. At one lane
bridges, cars travelling in one direction must give way to cars going in the
other direction.
Any of the signs (标志) shown in the left picture mean that you are coming
to a one lane bridge. Slow down and check for traffic coming the other way.
The smaller arrow shows which direction has to give way.
Animals on the road
Watch out for farm animals on the road, especially in the countryside. When
you see them, please slow down. You may need to stop and let the animals go

Seatbelts
