现在，我要从这个我曾效力了13个赛季的NBA里退役了。正在看这篇文章的人里可能很多都不是因为体育才认识我的，他们认识我主要还是因为我是一个“同性恋篮球手”。我的人生里“公开出柜的男人”占到了3%，另外还有一大半属于职业篮球运动员。作为一个没有掩饰自己的人，我是幸运的。如果想知道因为什么会这样，那首先得先明白我是如何被篮球所拯救的。我必须在过去几年以一个共开出柜球员的身份生活，所以现在我可以平静地退役。为什么呢？故事始于一辆校车上，终于一架飞机里。
