[摘要]：作者通过在对现行牛津初一英语教材的仔细研读和分析，根据所教学生的英语基础，设计出用讲故事和说梦境的形式来巧记动词的不规则变化。本文通过具体的教学案例向大家展示了故事教学方法既引起了学生的学习兴趣，又培养了他们的发散思维，最可贵的是循序渐进地学习和巩固了初中阶段的不规则动词的过去式变化。

[案例]：
最近一周，学生们纷纷兴高采烈地来到办公室来用英语讲他们的梦给我听，讲完了还要跟我炫耀一番：“Ivy（我的英文名），我今天用了好多动词的过去式吧？怎么样，今天我是不是用得最多的一个？” 周围的同事刚开始觉得很奇怪：这些学生背的是什么书呀，一个个背得兴高采烈？仔细一听，发现他们好像不是在背书，而是在讲故事，而且一个比一个讲得有趣，甚至有些还挺怪异。可是，初一英语哪里有讲故事的课文呀？原来他们是在讲自己美妙的或奇异的梦境，难怪会讲得眉飞色舞，兴致昂然。可是学生功课那么紧张，老师怎么会花一周的时间让学生们讲与课文不相干的故事呢？
[背景和学情]：
1、一般现在时是学习一般过去时的基础，在牛津初中英语7A中，学生刚刚学过一般现在时，印象深刻，偶尔也会见到一般过去时的句型，因而已有足够的知识准备。而一般过去时又是学习现在完成时，过去进行时和过去完成时的基础，因此一般过去时，在初中阶段就显得尤为重要，在常见的几种时态和语态中起着桥梁和纽带的作用。而不规则动词的过去式变化是一个难点。
2、七年级学生性格活泼，对新鲜事物特别敏感，容易接受新鲜事物，爱好想象和表演。因此在教学过程中，老师应注意创设情境，情境应生动活泼且贴近学生的生活，并鼓励学生积极参与情境表演。充分利用容易引起学生对教学内容产生无意注意的因素，使学生在课上比较轻松地集中注意听讲，从而激发学生的兴趣，调动学生的主动性和积极性。
3、新课程强调教学过程是师生交往，共同发展的互动过程。七年级学生已经具备了一定的观察，分析和解决问题的能力，因此在教授一般过去时中要处理好传授知识与培养能力的关系，注意培养学生的独立性和自主性，引导学生质疑、调查、探究，使学习成为在教师指导下主动的、富有个性的过程。

于是，从第二课时开始，我试着用过去时来和学生对话。师生问候完毕，我就开始跟他们讲我上班路上的事情。“This morning, I went to school by bus. On my way to school, I saw a big strong dog. What did you see on your way to school? What did they do? 大家可以对照不规则动词表发言。”同时，我在黑板上板书了 “On my way to school, I saw..,”学生们听到我讲的事情，看到我夸张的表情，一下子来了兴趣，于是叽叽喳喳讲起来。

Or something else.”我边讲边把可能的上学方式的动词过去式写在黑板上，然后随机请学生来回答。在两三分钟的时间里面，他们又熟悉了3-4个不规则动词的过去形式。
这时候，我又开始启发他们用过去时来回答下面的问题。“I went into the office; I sat down and put my handbag on the desk. Then I checked your homework. What did you do after you went into the classroom?” 讲完之后，请他们互相问答。而我则在教室里面来回走动来检查他们的问答情况，确认他们基本准备好后，我请部分学生来讲台前展示。

这梦错误虽然多了一些，但是，用了更多的不规则动词，想象力也蛮丰富的，所以我打了一个更高的分数。接下来又有好几位同学都和大家一起分享了他们精彩的梦境。整节课气氛活跃，课堂充满了欢声笑语。有的虽然可能不是他们真实的梦，但内容总会给我惊喜。于是我布置了家庭作业，口头故事一篇：I Had a Dream Last Night, 要求尽可能地用上5个不同的不规则动词，越多越好! 结果同学们热情高涨，两三天的功夫带给了我各种各样的梦。甚至还有人几天以后嚷着要再讲讲昨晚的梦。学生通过讲故事，想象力得到充分发挥，不知不觉中记下了大部分的不规则动词的过去形式；也为接下来做含有过去时的笔头练习(如句型转换、阅读和小作文等)基本铺平了道路。{i,had,a,dream作文}.

《英语课程标准》提出：“让学生在教师的指导下， 通过感知、体验、实践、参与、合作等方式，实现教学目标，感受成功。也就是说要让学生的学习成为教师指导下主动的、富有个性的过程，并使其过程更多地成为学生发现问题、提出问题、分析问题和解决问题的过程。
牛津版初中英语7B的第四和第五单元主要介绍过去时，短短两篇文章涵盖了许多动词的过去式变化规则。但在里面既有动词过去形式的规则变化，还有不规则变化，还有动词过去式中“ed”的不同发音规则。如此复杂的内容涵盖在两篇文章中，怎一个难字了得？翻开相应的配套练习，关于动词过去形式的单项练习并不充足。更可怕的是，过去时被大量地运用于现在的试卷里面，同时很
多学生在课外阅读中也时不时遇到包含过去时的句子。看来动词过去式的规则变化并不是难点，难点是大量的动词过去式不规则变化。
如果按照课文中的出现的动词讲解，显然既不能满足学生阅读英语小短文的需要，更不能满足学生日常对话的需要。让学生死记硬背不规则动词表，然后直接做大量练习？显然这种手法过于呆板，激发不起学生兴趣，也不利于语言点的灵活运用；反而早早加重了初一学生对试题的厌恶感。那么，怎样做才能不仅激发学生兴趣，又可以练习到为数不少的不规则动词呢？经过一番思考，我决定先从日常问答和讲故事入手，从口头上帮助学生熟悉不规则动词的过去式变化，再将说的技能逐步转化成写的技能。这样不但可以使过去时的学习有一定的梯度，同时也使知识难点得以分散，而且还可以利用学生求新求异的心理特点在不知不觉中熟悉并掌握不规则动词的过去式变化。因此，在本节课中，我利用前15分钟的时间带领学生感知、体验时态，进行师生互动，通过师生问答的形式轻轻松松掌握了10-15个不规则动词的过去式。在做了充分的练习后，才放手让学生自己去表达和展示。通过讲故事说梦境的方式来操练不规则动词的过去式，首先是激发了学生的兴趣，让学生的学习行为变被动为主动，这样学生更容易接受从而也更容易记牢学过的知识点；其次为学生创造了锻炼英语表达能力的机会，提高了学生说的能力；另外，说梦境给予了学生很大的自我发挥的空间，有利于锻炼其发散性思维，这对发展学生的创造想象能力和创造性思维能力显得尤其重要。
而英语教学的目的不仅仅是为了应付考试，更重要的是，英语作为一门语言，是一种交流的工具。因此日常的教学活动首先应该唤起学生说英语的兴趣，而后才能将之应用于写作中去。如果教师弃学生兴趣于不顾，一味地追求分数最优化，结果将可能扼杀了孩子的学习兴趣，使之早早地产生了厌学心理，而不利于他们日后英语能力的发展。
英语作为一门交际性很强的学科，教学的效果主要取决于教学对象的积极参与。而且，教师要在尽可能培养学生参与和探索精神的基础上，勤于分散教学难点，尽量减少学习障碍，为学生更好地掌握某种语言现象铺平道路。这样学生才能在学习的道路上走得更有信心，并且走得更远!
