篇一:《作文:A friend in need is a friend indeed》

Friends are very important for all of us. Nobody can live

happily without friends. Therefore, many people try to make as

many friends as they can, taking no notice of the quality of their

friends.

There is no doubt that friends can bring us much pleasure.

When friends sit together and talk about tings they are interest in,

they can easily feel happy. When you give a present to one of

your friends, he or she may thank you very much and speak

highly of you. But when you get into trouble, when you need to

share your pain with someone, you may find that nobody would

like to. They may refuse your request and some even don’t make

eye contact with you, which makes you feel very sad. And you

will be aware that it is a real mistake to make friends with them.

In fact, they are not real friends.

A real friend is a friend who can share your joy and pain with

you. When you meet difficulties, he or she can try to help you

and encourage you. When you feel sad, he or she can be with

you and remind you of good things. Don’t pay much attention to

the number of friends. A real friend means much more to you

than a lot of normal friends, if you still stick to calling them

friends. Please remember that a friend in need is a friend indeed.

篇二:《A_friend_in_need_is_a_friend_indeed》{friends,in,need,is,friends,indeed}.

A brief introduction of the friend

__A friend in need is a friend indeed

A life without friend is a life without sun! Many people will in and out of your

life, but only true friend will leave footprints in your heart.

True friends always come to you when you need help. They try their best to help you without thinking what they can get from it.

Up to the time of my writing this article, Christy has been helping me with my selecting the courses with great effort. She is a friendly and zealous girl. I think she has been liked by others since long ago because of her characteristics. She is always brisk, enthusiastic, energetic and she is smiling no matter when or where you see her. Moreover, she is pretty beautiful girl with long and black hair, two big eyes,a straight nose,a pointed jaw. However, I like her for some other reasons. It seems that between us there is a special way to communicate. She has always been a friend of mine because I like the way she acts and lives and the way we communicate.

One morning two months ago, she came to me and asked if she could be of help. Actually I had been worrying about my course of this semester for days since I hadn't got any English courses yet! Still I was totally guarded by Christy’help though she had always been kind. I thought it was my own business and it had never occurred to me that some other individual would offer to help with my selecting the courses. So I declined his kindness. The next day, I got a cough and it later turned out to be a four-day high fever. In

those days, I was extremely weak and lay in bed all day long .Further more I was too weak to eat. I lost the power to keep an eye on the possible vacancies of the English courses ever since I got a high fever. I began to regret declining Christy'ws offer. Just at that moment, Christy called, asking about my health and told me to have a good rest, saying that she would shoulder the responsibility of selecting my English courses for me.

Now I am writing this article as the homework of this writing course and I'd like to emphasize that it is all due to my friend's effort that I have finally made it. I was really grateful to her when she called and offered to help and it is hard to express my gratitude with words. All I want to say about it is that at that moment, I realized that she had offered to help not because it made her feel she was important but because she really treat me as her friend. She is a girl of integrity. I am proud of having such a friend

篇四:《A friend in need is a friend indeed》

A friend in need is a friend indeed

when I went to college. I was so sure that I can find a close friend just like my senior school .and that’s how it worked out .i really got such a friend .but it takes us a long time to get along well with each other.

we have ever quarreled with each other .but we never been separated by anything .we always try to look at problems from each others perspective. And solved problems instead of the cold war. Its hard for us to do this .because everyone has his temper .we have to put our love inside our heart all the time . Now when we look back the time we went through .we always say its so silly for us to think that we can certainly find such a friend in campus .at this very time. we consider this friendship like a gift .we cherish it so much .

A friend gets you through the hard times ,the sad times and confused times .a friend lifts you up in your spirits and makes you get out of the difficulty .it is also called a friend in need is a friend indeed. Friend will always be your strong backing .with your friend you can do everything you want .

Now i`m going to tell you a story named sand or stone. it means a lot to me .because it tells me the tolerance is the most important thing in cherishing my friendship.{friends,in,need,is,friends,indeed}.

It tells that two friends were walking through the desert. In a specific point of the journey. they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they

decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

learn to write your hurts in the sand

And to carve your benefits in stone.

If you have already get such a friendship. please cherish it .because I am sure that you have already get a life partner .

篇五:《A friend in need is a friend in deed演讲稿》

A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed

Ladies and Gentlemen, good morning, it’s my great honor to be here to give you this speech named “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. It’s a proverb about true friends. Everyone knows that proverb, but I don’t think that everyone knows the connotation of that sentence.{friends,in,need,is,friends,indeed}.

First, let’s listen to a story about “friends”. Two men were walking in the forest. They are friends. When a fierce bear attacked them, all things had changed. The thinner man quickly climbed up to the top of a tree and forgot his promise to the fatter guy who could not climb the tree. Luckily, the fatter man saved himself. The fatter man was very disappointed, and when they got together again, he said break up. The fatter man said to the thinner man, “you are not my real friend. Only a friend in need is a friend indeed”. In the end of this story, they never had been friend again.

Everyone needs friend, so how to make true friends is very important to everybody. A man in the progress of development will meet many difficulties. Sometimes, difficulty might become your cumber. So, in this situation, a true friend is very important for you. In other words, your friends can help you out of trouble. A true friend not only shares your happiness, but also your vexation. When you get in trouble, your true friend will come towards you and

encourage you. This encouragement not just in words but in action!

A true friend will do something for you to let you get rid of all fret around you! A true friend will always close to you no matter you in good or poor condition.

True friendship is a slow-growing plant. Understanding is definitely the soil that raising all fruit of the friendship. By the way, as a young college student, we should make more friends, so what’s the true friend and how to make a true friend become a question. In my opinion, on the one hand, to make friends, you must be friendly to others. A smile is like a magnet that draws people. Smile at others and you are always sure to get a smile in return. So in our daily life, we should treat others friendly and sincere, On the other hand, if you don’t agree with your friends, don’t argue but discuss with them. You should think more of others than of yourselves. Above all things, don’t believe those who leave their friends when they are in trouble, because “a friend in need is a friend indeed”.

篇六:《friends in need》

Some people seem easy to understand: their character appears obvious on first meeting. Appearances, however, can be deceptive.

A Friend in Need

Somerset Maugham

1 For thirty years now I have been studying my fellowmen. I do not know very much about them. I shrug my shoulders when people tell me that their first impressions of a person are always right. I think they must have small insight or great vanity. For my own part I find that the longer I know people the more they puzzle me.

2 These reflections have occurred to me because I read in this morning's paper that Edward Hyde Burton had died at Kobe. He was a merchant and he had been in business in Japan for many years. I knew him very little, but he interested me because once he gave me a great surprise. Unless I had heard the story from his own lips, I should never have believed that he was capable of such an action. It was more startling because both in appearance and manner he suggested a very definite type. Here if ever was a man all of a piece. He was a tiny little fellow, not much more than five feet four in height, and very slender, with white hair, a red face much wrinkled, and blue eyes. I suppose he was about sixty when I knew him. He was always neatly and quietly dressed in accordance with his age and station.

3 Though his offices were in Kobe, Burton often came down to Yokohama. I happened on one occasion to be spending a few days there, waiting for a ship, and I was introduced to him at the British Club. We played bridge together. He played a good game and a generous one. He did not talk very much, either then or later when we were having drinks, but what he said was sensible. He had a quiet, dry humor. He seemed to be popular at the club and afterwards, when he had gone, they described him as one of the best. It happened that we were both staying at the Grand Hotel and next day he asked me to dine with him. I met his wife, fat, elderly, and smiling, and his two daughters. It was evidently a united and affectionate family. I think the chief thing that struck me about Burton was his kindliness. There was something very pleasing in his mild blue eyes. His voice was gentle; you could not imagine that he could possibly raise it in anger; his smile was benign. Here was a man who attracted you because you felt in him a real love for his fellows. At the same time he liked his game of cards and his cocktail, he could tell with point a good and spicy story, and in his youth he had been something of an athlete. He was a rich man and he had made every penny himself. I suppose one thing that made you like him was that he was so small and frail; he aroused your instincts of protection. You felt that he could not bear to hurt a fly.

4 One afternoon I was sitting in the lounge of the Grand Hotel when Burton came in and seated himself in the chair next to mine.

5 "What do you say to a little drink?"

6 He clapped his hands for a boy and ordered two gin fizzes. As the boy brought them a man passed along the street outside and seeing me waved his hand. 7 "Do you know Turner?" said Burton as I nodded a greeting.

8 "I've met him at the club. I'm told he's a remittance man."

9 "Yes, I believe he is. We have a good many here."

10 "He plays bridge well."

11 "They generally do. There was a fellow here last year, oddly enough a namesake of mine, who was the best bridge player I ever met. I suppose you never came across him in London. Lenny Burton he called himself. I believe he'd belonged to some very good clubs."

12 "No, I don't believe I remember the name."

13 "He was quite a remarkable player. He seemed to have an instinct about the cards. It was uncanny. I used to play with him a lot. He was in Kobe for some time." 14 Burton sipped his gin fizz.

15 "It's rather a funny story," he said. "He wasn't a bad chap. I liked him. He was always well-dressed and smart-looking. He was handsome in a way with curly hair and pink-and-white cheeks. Women thought a lot of him. There was no harm in him, you know, he was only wild. Of course he drank too much. Those sort of fellows always do. A bit of money used to come on for him once a quarter and he made a bit more by card-playing. He won a good deal of mine, I know that."

16 Burton gave a kindly chuckle. I knew from my own experience that he could lose money at bridge with a good grace. He stroked his shaven chin with his thin hand; the veins stood out on it and it was almost transparent.

17 "I suppose that is why he came to me when he went broke, that and the fact that he was a namesake of mine. He came to see me in my office one day and asked me for a job. I was rather surprised. He told me that there was no more money coming from home and he wanted to work. I asked him how old he was.

18 "'Thirty-five,' he said.

19 "'And what have you been doing hitherto?' I asked him.

20 "'Well, nothing very much,' he said.

21 "I couldn't help laughing.

22 "'I'm afraid I can't do anything for you just yet,' I said. 'Come back and see me in another thirty-five years, and I'll see what I can do.'

23 "He didn't move. He went rather pale. He hesitated for a moment and then he told me that he had had bad luck at cards for some time. He hadn't been willing to stick to bridge, he'd been playing poker, and he'd got trimmed. He hadn't a penny. He'd pawned everything he had. He couldn't pay his hotel bill and they wouldn't give him any more credit. He was down and out. If he couldn't get something to do he'd have to commit suicide."

24 "I looked at him for a bit. I could see now that he was all to pieces. He'd been drinking more than usual and he looked fifty. The girls wouldn't have thought so much of him if they'd seen him then.

25 "'Well isn't there anything you can do except play cards?' I asked him. 26 "'I can swim,' he said.

27 "'Swim!'

28 "I could hardly believe my ears; it seemed such an insane answer to give. 29 "'I swam for my university.'

30 "I got some glimmering of what he was driving at. I've known too many men who were little tin gods at their university to be impressed by it.

31 "'I was a pretty good swimmer myself when I was a young man,' I said. 32 "Suddenly I had an idea."

33 Pausing in his story, Burton turned to me.

34 "Do you know Kobe?" he asked.

35 "No," I said, "I passed through it once, but I only spent a night there."

36 "Then you don't know the Shioya Club. When I was a young man I swam from there round the beacon and landed at the creek of Tarumi. It's over three miles and it's rather difficult on account
