Summer Holiday Part-time Job

During the summer holiday of 2007, I think I should do something meaningful instead of staying at home and watching TV. So I got a job at a KFC fast food restaurant and worked there as a cleaner. Every day I went to work early in the morning and got home late in the evening. I worked 7 hours a day for three weeks. [来源:Zxxk.Com]
The job was hard, boring and seemed endless, which made so tired that I almost quit half way. After all, I stuck to it with my determination. Finally, I finished the job before the new school term began. [来源Zxxk.Com]

暑假一到，我以为自己可以“解放”了，可没想到一向慈爱的妈妈却让我去体验打工生活，并说，表现得好，一周结束，表现不好，延长工期，唉，完了，早听人说打工苦，这会可要吃不了兜着走了，可又有什么办法呢，妈妈的安排，我能不从？
第二天一早，妈妈就把我从梦中叫醒，匆匆洗刷完毕，她便把我带到了一家快餐店，说是让我在这打工，临走前，妈妈还嘱咐老板不要优待我。
妈妈刚离开，老板就给我分配了任务：洗菜。这工作虽说轻松，但对于娇生惯养的我来说，也够呛。我先打来一桶水，接着便一株一株洗起来，菜不多，我却洗了好久。我把洗好的菜端给老板，竟被他指出了不少毛病：这里有泥，那片叶子该摘去„„真令我难堪。接着，我又干了不少活。
太阳渐渐升高了，我早已满头大汗了，偷空儿，我一屁股坐在了椅子上。我边喘气，边想：要是现在若能回家打空调，那该有多舒服呀！“文文，快来端菜。”唉，老板又在吩咐我。我无奈地站起来，走了过去„„大约11点钟了，店中生意处于高峰了。我累极了，真想偷懒，可又怕老板告诉妈妈，造成延长打工日期的后果，我只得咬咬牙硬撑着。我硬着头皮来到一位刚进门的叔叔面关，模仿着别的服务员的样子问：“叔叔，您要点什么？”那叔叔想了想说：“就来红烧排骨，炒青菜，三鲜汤吧！”“好，马上到。”于是，我三步并两步跑进厨房，飞快端来了他要的菜，还没等我喘过气来，旁边的一位阿姨又招呼我去为她盛一碗饭。盛了饭，却又有人喊我去他的桌子抹一下。就这样，我像陀螺一样飞快地转着转着，我觉得头昏脑涨，我觉双脚越来越沉重，我好想休息一会儿哦！
接近12点半了，顾客终于渐渐少了我也松了一口气。
“下午1-3点休息。”我吃完饭，老板对我说。“可以回家休息？”等得到肯定的回答后，我赶紧往家走。一进家门，我就一下子跌坐在沙发上，再也不想动弹了。
打工真辛苦！看来，平时用钱是得节约点了。

Summer Job
The summer job is a tradition among students of American universities. Long before the end of the school year,students begin their search for jobs during vacation .
Students send letters to businesses, talk to employers about job opportunities durlng the summer, and ask friends and relarives to be on the lookout for jobs for them. By June the students have usually
solved the problem and begin to make preparations for leaving their books to enter the business world.
Reasons for wanting a summer job are different from student to student. Some work to help pay their school expenses; others work to gain experience in their chosen professions; still others work just for the fun of it. Typist, construction worker, salesman, lifeguard, and waiter these are some of the more common jobs that students try to find during the summer months. But many young people find work that is a little more unusual.
