Good morning, everyone. The title of my speech is ―What college education means to me‖.
For me, college education is a marvelous ship-builder. With great vision, college education has equipped me, first with a powerful propeller -- the knowledge in certain field and wide exposure to other disciplines. By devoting myself to my courses in the day and immersing myself in the world literature at night, I’ve amassed the driving force for the future and enriched my soul.
Besides, college education has also provided me with a precise compass -- the sense of social responsibility. How can I best serve the public while achieving my self-fulfillment? My one year’s experience as an English tutor has proved: to be valuable to society as well as to find my place, I have to possess some actual strength and the ability to function well in the most challenging situation. Amid the hectic schedule that balances club activities, sports, and academic courses, I feel the rhythm and beauty in my life, knowing that I ’m on the right way. And more importantly, college education has set up not only single ships, but also fleets with common destinations. By interacting with friends of common beliefs, I’ve acquired skills of relating to other people.
Now, as a ship about to make my maiden voyage, I’m still not in the position to tell what’s waiting ahead of me, but with a powerful propeller, a precise compass and ardent companions of sailing in the sea of society, I’m ready to be a great sea-explorer. Thank you.

大家早上好。今天我演讲的题目是―大学教育对我的意义‖。
对我来说，大学教育犹如一位技艺精湛的造船师。 首先，具有远见卓识的大学教育为我装配了一只马力强劲的推进器；专业知识及广博的课外知识给我带来无限动力。白天我全神贯注地研习自己的课程，晚上则尽情享受世界文学，在此过程中，我既为未来积聚了力量，又充实了自己的灵魂。
此外，大学教育还为我提供了一个精确的罗盘，即社会责任感。―如何才能在实现自我价值的同时最大限度地服务于社会？‖我一年的英语家教的经历证明：只有拥有过硬的实力和对高挑战性局面应付自如的能力，我才能成为一个对社会有价值的人，一个找到自己位置的人。在协调着社团活动、体育运动和专业课程的忙碌日程中，我感受到了生活的韵律与美丽。
更为重要的是，大学教育不仅仅制造了一只只单个的船只，他还组建了一支支驶向同一目的地的大舰队。在与志趣相投的朋友们的相处、融合中，我锻炼了与人交往的能力。

2. Why do I learn English?
Good morning, everyone. As everyone knows, English is very important today. It has been used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on the Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well, we will have more chance to succeed. At present, the number of the people who study English has increased at a high speed.
But for myself, I learn English not only because of its importance and usefulness, but also because of my love for it. When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world. When I read English, I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation. When I speak English, I can feel the melody and confidence from my words.
I love English, for it gives me a colorful dream. I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different countries and I can appreciate many places of interests. I also want to introduce Chinese civilization to the foreigners. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well. If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. So I believe with my passion for English, I will exert myself. And I am sure I will realize my dream one day! Thank you!

3. The East and the West
Kipling said: ―East is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!‖ But now, a century later, they have met.
They have met in business. They have met in education. They have met in the arts. Some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but I believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. We can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. We can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.
I love Beijing opera because it always reminds me of who I am. But I am also a fan of pop music, especially English songs. So I have combined eastern melody with western language.
When two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. When this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. Then there are certain things some people may not like. To this, I will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it. To learn to tolerate what you personally don’t like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. Before us, there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures. At present, they may run in different courses. But eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.

纪念孔子诞辰 诵读经典美文
为使我校少先队员接受中华国学经典的文学滋养和文化熏陶，进一步激发学生对经典文化的学习兴趣，营造出书香校园的氛围。庚名小学于2014年9月28日早晨组织全校少先队员开展了纪念孔子诞辰经典诵读展示活动。
在本次活动中，少先队员集中诵读了《三字经》、《千字文》、《弟子规》、《少年中国说》等传统文化经典著作。诵读中少先队员们诵读流利，从容自如，铿锵有力的声音不时在校园上空飞扬，客观地展现了他们对文化经典著作和优秀古诗文的积累。同时，提高了他们的欣赏品位、审美情趣，激发了同学的爱国情怀。
开展经典诵读是一项长期的工作，我校将采用灵活多样的方式，向家庭延伸，向社会延伸，唤起学生背诵古诗文的热情，并使这种热情经久不衰，让校园充满浓浓的文化氛围。
第四篇:《读《爱的教育》有感》
别人说，只有复杂的目光才能看懂复杂的东西。但是，“心”却是不一样，只有最纯真的心才能读懂最伟大的爱。亚米契斯就证明了这一点：他的巨作《爱的教育》就用小孩最单纯最渺小的心表达了世间最复杂最伟大的爱。
而在这渺小而单纯的心中，我感触最深的是《精神讲话》。
故事是写男孩马可尔家里很穷，为了还债，他的妈妈决定去工资丰厚的布宜洛斯艾利斯工作，可是不久，她和家里失去了联系。马可尔决定独自去找妈妈，开始了万里寻母的艰难历程……
在路上，马可尔经历了一切酸甜苦辣：船上的颠簸使他站不起来;疾病的煎熬使他痛苦不堪……但是，一路走来，有许多人给了他爱：酒吧老板的一点路费；船长请的一顿午餐；以及所有的人，都给予了他一份渺小的爱。而正是这不起眼的水滴，一点一点，汇成了小溪，汇成了江河，滋润着"心"的沙漠……
最后等到的，不一定是完美。当马可尔气喘吁吁地来到一家医院时，他见到了妈妈苍白的嘴唇，憔悴的面容，以及那忧伤的眼睛－－妈妈得了重病!最后，马可尔用爱滋润了母亲干枯的心，手术很成功，妈妈终于得救了。医生语重心长地说：“我什么都没有做，是马可尔救了自己的母亲啊。”
对于爱，我不懂也不会。但我唯一能做的就是学会制造与派送爱；对于“心”，我还是什么也不明，所以，我也要学会体会与感动。也许，这也是人生的阶梯
第五篇:《成长，我需要读"书"》
成长，我需要读"书"
俗话说;“书籍是人类进步的阶梯。”书记是我们的良师益友，我爱书，他是我的精神粮食。
从我呱呱落地，我就开始读书。读眼前的爸爸妈妈，学会了叫她“妈妈”，学会了叫他“爸爸”。渐渐的，我开始读生活这本百科全书，我学会了走路，吃饭，知道了什么是床，什么是电视，知道了会跑的是车，会叫的是狗。
从跨入学校的第一步，发到了课本，开学了！我在朗朗的读书声中——长大了！我每天到学校学习知识，增长见闻，广交朋友，在书中长大，书成了我的好朋友，我的好老师。
随着年龄的增长，学校的书已不够我的满足在床上想想，做出了一个决定——我要去书店读书。暑假的来临，是我开始了行动，仿佛眼前的字已不是字，而都变成了金子，但这又是金子无法买到的。
要读书，四大名著是优先选择，走进书店，一看，这四大名著能把我压死！我选择了一本早就有所听闻的《三国演义》。可翻开一看，里面都是一些稀奇古怪的句子，字词，什么“之乎者也”，使我头昏眼花。但是里面的故事情节甚是激动人心，人物的性格更是十分鲜明。我在三国中遨游，仿佛我是战场上一名战士。我读他无忧无虑，外界的任何事情都影响不了我。
冰心奶奶说过：多读书，读好书，好读书。我相信我的成长离不开“书”。
